Works to Post Blog Excerpts within Home Page

I wanted my home page to have blog post excerpts but also other information, so making my home page simply the blog summary didn’t work for me. Post Content Shortcodes works beautifully.

The only thing I don’t like is that the “Read more” link is within a separate paragraph. Since many of my excerpts end in the middle of a line, it would be nice if I could add ellipses and then “Read more” on the same line. I have seen others asking for ellipses but I haven’t seen anything about the <p> issue. (I’m sure I could dig into the plugin and get it to my liking, but I haven’t bothered making that effort, so obviously the issue doesn’t bother me that much.)
