Works only in permalinks

  • Hi,

    I am noticing that when i use posting as .com/?p=1 my website works well. But whenever i place it as .com/sample-post but website post shows router.php not found and shows an error. I contacted my webhost and they said it might be due to non optimisation and is taking too much resources and thats what is causing the problem. So how should i correct the issue for such?

  • That sounds like a permalink problem.

    If you navigate to .com/wp-admin/options-permalink.php how are the links set up? The ‘pretty urls’ are not enabled by default.

    Hi,
    Yeah pretty urls are not by default. But thts what mean… My website works only in permalinks..not in pretty url..like i said like .com/?p=1 not in .com/sample-post. When i enable pretty url i get the error like said in above post.

    Ok, i have given some thoughts and will soon be doing some editing as asked. But would it be a problem if i use default links? the question mark ones.

    Ok, I have done it successfully. My .htaccess file were actually blank, so added the code and its now working perfectly. Thanks.

    that the problem of .htaccess you can change .htaccess permission and make writeable so nxt time when you change oermalink it automatically change..
