This plugin worked well until we had a large fundraiser/charity drive and people shared our donation page on LinkedIn and instead of the OpenGraph tag set via Rank Math or the page Feature Image showing, a huge “GDPR” banner was used as the social share image instead (on just one page).

Upon speaking with the developer the suggested we don’t use Rank Math and switch to Yoast, which isn’t a decision I can make at a large corporation with 10+ umbella websites that use the same technology for consistency.

If you have Yoast, this plugin will work as intended. If you’re using Rank Math, beware there may be some bugs.

    Hi @goldendust20

As we already advised you, this issue has nothing to do with our plugin or Rank Math plugin or any other plugin on your site.

The issue on your site is related to a wrong/non-existent social media image setup on your site.

If your site doesn’t have a proper social media setup, then social media sites will themselves decide which image from your site to display.

Although this issue is not related to our plugin at all, we were trying to be helpful and provided instructions for how to fix this issue if you use SEO Yoast plugin as that’s the most popular SEO plugin.

If you use a different SEO plugin, then you either need to speak to the developers of that plugin or work out yourself which settings in that plugin you need to use to get social media images appearing properly.

You can also find much more info about this issue online.

Hi, thanks for following up. We do have the OpenGraph set in RankMath as well as a feature image in the page. RankMath thought it was a bug, but I suppose if it’s on my end it’s nothing to look into any further. Have a good one!
