    Preferred steps:
    1. Install an SLL certificate when you are ready to go live.
    2. Use chrome developer tools to ensure there are no insecure links.
    3. Remediate all insecure items/links and fully test pages to ensure lock exists.
    4. Install and activate the Really Simple SSL Plugin!

    Without details, this plugin can still help you, even if you have already changed your site name to https.

    It is simple and effective… One of my favorites!
