Works great if I don't want ajax functionality

Lot’s of comments on the web that this plugin is stepping all over ajax. I can’t get a response from the author(s) at all on it. Nobody seems to have a solution that I’ve noticed yet. Too bad really since it looks like a really useful plugin.
