Buddypress groups description as boxed comes with plain text only and too much of it means you have to scroll down everytime to see whatever is displayed below like the activity stream

One solution would be to have a more… feature the other is to use group extras to add a new extended home page for the group and this it does very well once you’ve set it up. The big advantage is rich text and add media facility all edited from the front end.

You can go further and add a number of group pages which can be handy – a help page for example.

The pro version it says will include group page content in the search but the link to get to this breaks – loses one star.

The group extras fields are an unnecessary complication really as the pages are perfectly adequate to display contact details etc etc

I hope despite the negative comments elsewhere the author doesn’t give up on this plugin.

It could become a core addition to BP and when will BP include rich text and media option to it’s updates and group descriptions.
