Works for Admin but not for regular user

When I’m in user profile page I am not able to navigate back to the home page. I am constantly redirected back to the user profile. In the browser it shows https://www.my_website.com/user/username/?redirect_to=https://www.my_website.com/. I am also not able to navigate to /user/username/?um_action=edit. This issue is only for a non-admin user.
