Works fine but incomplete implementation

  • First of all its cool that there is a plugin for each and everything out there and most of the time for free, but the implementation of the google dynamic remarketing tag parameters in this plugin is a little bit incomplete in my opinion…

    Google says there are many different kinds of ecomm_pagetype possibilities (see https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/3103357):
    home -> working
    searchresults -> NOT working-> defaults to 'other'
    category -> NOT working-> defaults to 'other'
    product -> working
    cart -> working
    purchase -> working
    other -> working for blog and other content pages

    so you see that the plugin is not setting the pagetype variable correctly for searchresults and productcategories, but for the rest it works as expected and also collects product_ids and the total value if necessary (product/cart/purchase)

    The support for search results and categories are not mandatory for the correct function of the plugin and the AdWords campaigns. But you were right, it was incomplete. So here you go ?? I’ve added support for the search results and the categories, bringing the plugin to its first full version 1.0

    (Also added internationalization. So if anyone likes to translate, that now can be done too.)
