• I would like UpdraftPlus as it seemed to work as I expected and is easy to handle. BUT it expands vitual harddisks with every backup. Even after transferring the backup file to a cloud this additional used disk space doesn’t become free again to be used for next backup. On the contrary next backup increases Harddisk more and more

    I was very supprised when I yesterday got a mail from the hoster of my homepage. He was hosting my homepage on an virtual machine. “My” harddisk was configured with a virtual harddisk-maximum of 300GB. Within a week my harddisk increased from less than 20GB to 73GB.

    Yesterday, as i made a first backup of whole homepage including uploads (aprox. 7,5GB) the harddisk increased more than 15GB!

    As my hoster backups the vitual machine every day, he suggested to move my account to another hoster as it ties up too much of his resources. I am really joltet.

    For now I have disactivated UpdraftPlus…

    Hi,

    Please check if “Delete local backups” option is checked? This allows you to only keep backups on your remote storage.

    Go back to UpdraftPlus > Settings tab > Show expert settings > check the delete local backups option and save the settings.

    Hi Ernst,

    Apologies for the late reply.

    We had a recent update. Can you please update the plugin and see if that helps resolve the issue?

    If you continue to get the same issues, please try to wipe out settings in the “Advance Tools” tab and re-setup UpdraftPlus. Please let me know if that works.
