Works as it should – but watch the extra loading time!

  • I had this plugin installed for around 3 months in my footer, next to a widget for Trover.com.

    Alpine PhotoTile for Tumblr did what it was supposed to do – no problem with that!

    What made me deactivate it were my speed tests on Pingdom Tools. With both preview galleries active my site was at almost 4.3mB, now it’s down to 1.2mB and four times as fast.
    This might not matter too much for real visitors, as I had both in my footer – by the time a person scrolls down there it would have finished loading… But it also might impact on search engine rankings, as the site is perceived to load slow.
