Works — an update would give peace of mind

I didn’t have to change anything for it to work. Stopped a brute-force attack dead.

The plugin author seems to be active, at least in some cases, in the support area. It’d go a long way if he updated the plugin, even a little bit, to show others it’s not dead. Thanks, and good work.
