Working with Yoast SEO and Elementor is torture
-
Hello,
I am using Elementor + Astra (free) and Yoast SEO.
I am trying to work with SEO settings, key phrases, etc., but it is not possible through Elementor, and only show on the WordPress Edit screen. Therefore, when a word needs changing, or the meta description aligned with text, or a link changed – one needs to jump back and forth between the screens. This is a colossal waste of time.
Is it possible to make a tab for these tweaks in the Elementor page editor and save us this impossible task?
Also, the SEO doesn’t recognize the first title on the page as page title, and the page title is not editable, so many hide it. This affects SEO scores.
Thank you,

I’m sorry but you’ll need to get in touch with Yoast support, as this would be something they would need to solve for you on their end.
Cavalirlife,
I’m not sure I understood you correctly:
whether or not Elementor displays the options, which are present in the WordPress Editor, for SEO is – something Yoast would do?
VeraDo you mean you want to see the Yoast fields that are displayed in the WordPress editor within the Elementor editor?
If so, sorry for my misunderstanding. The developers appreciate ideas for improvement, so if you like, you can submit a Feature Request on Github, which is where they take feature requests. You can submit them at https://github.com/elementor/elementor/issues/new/choose which gives you the opportunity to follow the discussion about ideas you submit, and track development progress of any that get implemented. You can learn more about how to submit requests at https://github.com/elementor/elementor/blob/master/.github/CONTRIBUTING.md
Hi Vera,
Elementor and Yoast SEO are two different things.
Elementor is for building and creating pages, Yoast SEO to give you the option to easely configure your SEO settings per page.So if you want to work on SEO per page, you need to be in the default WordPress editor, because that is where the Yoast SEO plugin adds his SEO settings.
This can not be added into a pagebuilder, because, for starters, Yoast SEO plugin does not know IF and WHAT pagebuilder one would use.
Hope this helps understand it a bit better?
AnnieI was sure that the whole first paragraph detailing the torture of not seeing them in Elementor and jumping back and forth – was quite clear. Maybe it wasn’t.
OK, I shall do that.
However, this very same thing was already talked about before, and just disregarded, so I doubt this is a “new idea for improvement”.
In my point of view, at this time, it should not even be considered “idea for improvement”, but a very necessary, obvious thing. For EVERYONE is today supposed to work with SEO, no? So this impossible situation is felt acutely by… EVERYONE who has Yoast or any other SEO Plugin.
But I shall try the way you pointed out.
Thank you,
Vera@logologics
No, it doesn’t really.
I did not ask Yoast to add it to Elementor – but Elementor.
Of course, Yoast doesn’t know. But Eementor may work with Yoast and all other serious SEO plugins to create a tab for them. Just as there is a Elementor widget to style Caldera form, for example.
What you so carefully explained is exactly what I find impossible, and what I described in the beginning.
So no, it doesn’t.
Thank you.
VeraFYI, a request has been logged on Elementor’s github to figure out how to do this: https://github.com/elementor/elementor/issues/7130. It would be nice if everyone asking for the functionality added their voice on github and ALSO asked Yoast to work with Elementor to figure this out.
Thank you, Ambyomoron.
I agree.
I added my voice to that ticket.I did not ask Yoast to add it to Elementor – but Elementor
As they are two different plugins/authors, Elementor can not do this, Yoast will need to agree and change things in his plugin to make this work. I do not see Yoast making those changes, because it will need to adapt to multiple pagebuilders, Not everyone uses Elementor…
But Eementor may work with Yoast and all other serious SEO plugins to create a tab for them. Just as there is a Elementor widget to style Caldera form, for example.
There is no “Elementor widget” for Caldera form. It is a Caldera widget ( made by Caldera ) and it only shows up under the “WordPress Elements” if you look closely, not under the “Elementor elements”! Yoast has no “WordPress widget” for his tabs, but has integrated it per page, which makes sense.
Although I agree it would be nice if it could be handled right in the Elementor panel, I do not feel this is “torture” or “impossible” to work with. I am doing SEO for many years + pagebuilders and works just fine to be honest.
If you learn the basics of best SEO practices, you will not need to go back and forth every second, just write text as discribed as best SEO practices and fine tune if neccessary with the SEO tabs later.
So if Elementor can pull this off, more power to them, but I am afraid it will not happen soon…

The control to display readibility issues is simply not working in the Elementor editor
Agreed, that is nor working with Elementor.
However, when you follow the Yoast tip tools about that topic, you can learn to write text that is ok for readabilitly out of the box too.Again it would be cool to have it integrated, not sure if that is possible or something they will want to do if it is…
@logologics
I am ever so grateful for the lecture and the lesson in how to write while at the same time having “learned the basics of best SEO practices”.
There is indeed a widget for caldera forms styling in Elementor, by Essential Addons for Elementor. Not Caldera. Which you may have found out had you “learned the best practices” of checking and doing your research before answering.
Whether or not YOU feel it is torture working like this is highly irrelevant, because it is my feeling that has this ticket opened, and I DO find it so. If you go to the doctor and complain about a headache, and he would say that he doesn’t see what’s so bad about it – I don’t believe you would be happy to hear such arrogant answer. It is astonishing to receive such a comment.
Forgive me, but I was under the impression that you were ace coders. People whose mission in life is overcoming seeming impossibilities. Which you were doing greatly.
And yet I get a victim tirade with the tone of superiority…
That is, instead of taking on a challenge and asking yourself what you CAN do and how, you’re telling me, at length, what cannot be done and how you don’t consider it such a problem… I have seen you do the same in the threads I checked before opening this ticket, as well.
I have no idea what your role is here, but whatever it is – thank you for your… time.
Have a nice day. There is indeed a widget for caldera forms styling in Elementor, by Essential Addons for Elementor.
Essential addons is not Elementor. It is a third party plugin author https://wpdeveloper.net/.
Me expressing how I feel is arrogant, yet when you use words like “impossible to work with, colossal waste of time, torture” it is “highly relevant”. Interesting…
I am not an Elementor developer, just a user like you and so many others, so I hope they will do what you hope for!

@logologics
Yes, dear. I know it’s a third party plugin author.
My point, which you have, of course, missed is that – it can be done with a little creative thinking.
Yes, your expressing how YOU feel within MY complaint is arrogant.
I do not recall asking for advice on how to use the bloody plugin nor on how to write. I do not recall inviting “just a user like me” to express their own opinion on it.
I contacted the support to ask for a feature and report MY experience with it.
You are, of course, free to express YOURS – but not TO ME in this case.
You are repeatedly crashing other people’s tickets, lecturing them and promoting the attitude of “oh, that’s what is is and let’s live with it”.
I know how to live with it.
I have detailed exactly how.
And my attitude is: “let’s not live with what is wrong, let’s make it right”.
Nobody is expected to think of everything outright. Users bringing their own problems with what IS – that is the best way to discover what was missed or not thought of. This is what I am doing.
You did not even express any interest as to WHY I feel it is torture, but you feel justified to throw in YOUR work experience. So here, dear: among other things, I do a lot of upgrades and redesigns for people, and there is a lot of tweaking, editing and re-thinking to do with a multitude of texts already written, sometimes long ago, long texts and rich content – in 3 languages. All this with changing and evolving “SEO basics” and rules. So your superiority and assumption in throwing around unsolicited advice, instructing me how to write and learn basics is, frankly, infuriating. Your taking offense at me trying to get rid of that unsolicited advice is, plainly, unbelievable.
I hope I have sufficiently explained myself to you, though why you would, again, assume I needed to – is quite beyond me.
VeraSigh…
For EVERYONE is today supposed to work with SEO, no? So this impossible situation is felt acutely by… EVERYONE who has Yoast or any other SEO Plugin.
You claim that “everyone” feels the same way as you do about this.
Please do not speak for everyone ( that includes me ) and then get offended if some of us, dare to say we dont feel that way and try to help you by telling how it might get easier.Yes, your expressing how YOU feel within MY complaint is arrogant.
I will no longer “intrude” your topic/complaint and wish you all the best.
Finally!
Thank you!
