    See https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/

We have a site where people can add their own listings to a business directory. However, they have to register as site users first, and Wordfence seems to be blocking that part of the process (showing “temporarily blocked” black and white page). How can we let users register? Wordfence was installed as “on” for a few days but I tried moving it to “learning” — hasn’t helped so far.

I can create a listing when I’m logged in as myself (admin), but this doesn’t help our site visitors. I’ve also reached out to the plugin creators to see if they’ve had success using the two plugins together.

  • Hi @haleystudio,

Can you see blocked IPs/requests in the Live Traffic stream? If so, what is the reason stated?

    Hi @haleystudio,

Since I haven’t heard back from you I am assuming that you managed to solve the issue so I am marking this topic as resolved.

If however, you are still experiencing this issue and it is not resolved please let us know.

    Thank you.

So weird — I got the email notice from your second message, but not your first!

First I poked around to find the Whitelist, and added the URL where my form was. Not sure if I did it right though. Then I turned off the Firewall, and THEN I realized I had to turn on “Anyone can register” in my Settings menu. OOPS! Then the “register here” link showed up under the login link. I tested while not logged in already, and it worked! Next I turned the Firewall back to “Learning” (and successfully tested) where I will let it stay for a week or so.

I did not see a “Live Traffic” area in the admin side.

    Thanks!

    Hi @haleystudio,

    Thanks for your reply.

For information, in Wordfence 7 Live Traffic is located under Tools > Live Traffic. If you prefer to have a direct link to Live Traffic in the left navigation as it used to be in the older versions of Wordfence:

    1. Open the “Live Traffic Options” tab on the “Live Traffic” page
    2. Enable the option “Display top level Live Traffic menu option”
    3. Click “Save Changes”

This modification can also be performed via the “All Options” page (“View Customization” section)

You can now access the Live Traffic page from Wordfence main navigation.
