Working poorly with WP 3.9x and a 3:rd language

I manage a website for a customer that has qtranslate installed.
Things have been working flawless untill WP3.9 came out. And it has definitely not worked at all when my customer wanted a third language on their site.
It now has English and Swedish, witch works with glitches with version 2.5.40b. The website of the author of the plugin states that a new version should be out 1-2 weeks after an update of WP.
No new version has been seen since 3.8 and no statement is up about the plugin. Is the plugin to be considered dead and no longer supported by the author?
