• Is there a simple way to work on a new design without messing up your current page?
Do you have to make something like:
    wp-layout_test.css
    and
    index_test.php
I used to use MT and I think you could create other pages in it before publishing and it wouldn’t interfere with your current page.
Is the above example the easiest way or is there another?

    Thanks…

  • What you are suggestion is the way I always did it before have a double testversion of my site (including duplicate database). The only thing that will not work are the links, because they will always lead you back to your official index.php. But that’s no problem.

Copy your index.php and call in index2.php or something and then get to work on index2.php . Create copies of your stylesheets too, if you like.

    Here is my current site:

Here is a link to the Masthead or Header that I’ve made and want to use:

I’m currently using the Mingus template. Do I need to switch to another template to make everything work since the sidebar is on the left instead of the right?

You’re using 1.2 and so, just create a duplicate of the index.php that your blog currently uses, like I said before, to try things out.
