Zotpress seems to work flawlessly on desktop, however, on mobile (tried Chrome and Firefox) I only see spinning wheels where the reference should be. The bibliography loads, though all entries are listed as number 1.

    Any ideas what’s going on?

  • Hey Cistron, I get spinning wheels when I go to your site with my desktop system. I tried with Edge and with Brave browsers.

I see a fundamental javascript parsing error … I wonder, what is the shortcode?

    Hi Katie,

    For example:
    [zotpressInText item="{6271941:FY3J8BHQ}" format="%num%" brackets="yes" separator="comma"]

    And for the bibliography:
    [zotpressInTextBib style="nature" sort="ASC"]

Hmm … looks good on first glance! Another idea: are the comma’s formatted (like what happens when writing in Word) or plain text?

    Thanks for looking into this.

I’m using the classic editor for writing, so there shouldn’t be any formatting applied, right?

I think that it happens either way, but I’m not quite sure. You can quickly check by manually re-typing the quotes, or going to HTML mode. I did copy-and-paste your shortcodes and changed the item to one of mine on my account, and it’s working on my end.

I took a second look at the JavaScript error. I don’t think it has to do with Zotpress, but if there’s an error like this, it could break any JavaScript code. The error seems to go back to this plugin (?) “wpfc-minified” … can you check it?

Interesting. I only see that error on the FireFox developer console, but not on Chrome. I’ll have a look what causes it. Thanks, Katie!

I was having a similar problem of spinning wheels whenever I tried to open the page on mobile, and I tried your suggestion on another thread of disabling all unused plug-ins that were still activated, and that actually fixed the problem! So I just wanted to say thank you for your help!
