    Was really excited to find this. We’re looking for a site group chat function, not a sidebar or popup, but in page chat. Can’t find anything but 3rd party services!! Until this… BUT it doesn’t appear to work any more.

    Also curious if I can remove the /chat-room/ part of the URL. Or if you can give more control over the permalink. Think of a Mobile use case: We’d like to send mobile visitors at an event to mediatech.ventures/chat to chat during the event live.

    What aspects don’t seem to be working any more, in your opinion? Note I can only see “You need to be logged in to participate in the chatroom.” since I don’t have a user.

    It’s a rather simple plugin, in the long run. First up, it uses a custom post type and posts in that post type to handle each “chat room”. It then uses AJAX and the file system to read/write logs for the chat. If functions like file_get_contents, fread, fwrite are disabled on your hosting, then this may present issues.
