• Have been looking for a good photo gallery plugin that works with a PC and iOS. Most work I do is on a PC but in travels use an iPad to build galleries and, ideally, albums. Not just for building a page/post but needs to support display on both a PC and iOS.

Having problems finding a good plugin for working with galleries for posts/pages. Please do not mention NextGEN as it does not support iOS – their comment not mine. Photo Gallery has problems displaying column headers vertically and not horizontally on an iPad – cannot get an answer from Photo Gallery forum on this issue. Envira looks good but has no free version – four different prices and you need to renew each year to get support. Platinum is $249 and you do get lifetime support.

I am not a fulltime developer but just setting up my own site.

So if anyone has a suggestion please let me know – my thanks – Ken

WPPA is supposed to work with iOS. What is your experience?

Jacob – no issues with WPPA. Trying to find a gallery plugin to work with iOS. Based on your comment I will try it.

However, one concern I have is that one of the comments says it will not work with the WP Media Gallery? Is this correct? When traveling am wanting it to workk with iOS Photos app – select an album and go from there. When home use it with my desktop which does imply using the WP Media Gallery – hence the concern.

Comments on ineraction with Media Gallery.

    Thanks a bunch – Ken

You can import the photos from the wp media rather simple into the wppa system:

    – Goto the Photo Albums -> Import photos admin page
    – Select wp-content/uploads/4014/12 at the Import photos from: selectionbox.
    – Press the Set Source directory button.
    – Select an album at the Default album for import: selection box.
    – Tick the Check/Uncheck all box.
    – Press the Start Ajax button, and pour yourself a cup of coffee.

Jacob – my thanks for the reply.
But do want to know what is the compatibility with iOS devices, an iPad in particular?

    Thanks

Well, it should work. Try this site on your iPad: https://wppa.opajaap.nl/
Or to see a responsive page: https://beta.opajaap.nl/generic-2/
