work with converted website vs starting website from scratch

Hello,

I need some advice. Within the last year I had a developer convert my website, kuhldoors.com to WordPress. They used the ‘Responsive’ theme with some modifications through ‘child’ to make it look like the old website.

I am in the process of learning all about WordPress so I can make changes and updates and all that good stuff. In my research someone strongly suggested to me that I am better off building the website from scratch. Not opposed to doing this if it makes life easier and better in the long run but also don’t want to waste my time.

The main reason was security. Making sure I got relevant updates to keep site secure. Also might be easier for me in the learning process
