• … and I just can’t find out why:

    Hello,

I downloaded the newest version of wordtube (2.2.2. DE-edition) at https://alexrabe.boelinger.com/wordpress-plugins/wordtube/ installed it and got it working in the backend/admin-interface. Here everything works fine, even without using the separate JW-Player, because the player.swf is included in the wordtube-pack.

However, when I insert the code [media id=1] into the content (wysywig-editor or html-editor) there is no video or anything else in the frontend/website. It only shows the string I inserted “[media id=1]”.

I tried this with pages and articles, I checked the tag <?php wp_head(); ?> in the header.php, I uploaded the files with the wordtube manager, I deactivated plugins, I searched for the problem on the web and in forums, nothing helped.

Does anyone have an idea? Thanks!

  • yes i have the same problem as yours. hopefully there’s a solution to this.

The tag [media id=1] is simpy discard and being displayed in the post as text media id=1

    Thanks for your hint.

Well, I actually tried both: using the integrated player and copying the newest JW-Longtail-FLV-player (also named player.swf) into the wordtube-directory, according to the instructions, there is no difference …

    Well finally I must confess:

The Problem WAS the only plugin, which I had not deactivated, because too many functions in different files of the project had to be altered as well to see the impact!

This was a self-written plugin and it had something to do with the output generated before the header. The programmer said, he had to use “return” instead of “echo” in the plugin so perhaps this can help anyone out there …
