• Hi All,

I am currently designing what will be a large social networking website based off wordpress and buddypress. Does anyone know what kind of server setup www.remarpro.com uses to support all of its users? Also, does anyone know if I can keep 100,000 users on one mysql database or if and how I should spread it out over multiple databases?

    Any help is appreciated,

    Thank you

  • I believe that it all depends upon how many users you expect the site to get and plan according, I believe you should decide on a limit per each database otherwise all of the queries made on a single database for 100,000 may cause slowness on the site.

An example may be: Only 5,000 people will be on one database and then I will create another database for the newer users.

Great idea. What kind of hard ware should we setup? We’re looking at have at least 1000 users on at a time and possibly more. Also can we run all the databases on mysql on the same
Server or does each mysql database need to be on its own server?

Thank you all again for the help!
