Issue 1: I tried to gain access to this forum before the latest update. I never received my confirmation email. Even today, I have tried password recovert also and I NEVER get that email either.

Issue 2: I have now registered a NEW account that I was able to get the confirmation with, however, I cannot see anywhere on this site where I can change my password from the one that was randomly generated.

Any input from www.remarpro.com folks would be nice!

@ alexleonard: I don’t think I was nasty at all, and I certainly didn’t rant. Either way, I don’t have much tolerance for people who make smart*** remarks to me like I’m some kind of idiot. If you can’t volunteer without being rude, then it seems to me you need to find a new hobby.

In spite of it all, I apologize to Otto for what I said. Perhaps my frustration caused me to read more into what he said than was really there.

Back on topic: I’m using a yahoo account. I always check my spam folder before deleting the contents and it hasn’t show up there either.

Holy cow – is this thing broke or what? My perfectly nice forum login seems to have disappeaed since whenever this big upgrade happened, the first time I try to post it tells me that the page is not found.

For the record: if there’s somewhere that you can reset a password I sure couldn’t find it. (I’m using Opera) Besides, the system said that my user ID didn’t exist.

That’s interesting, appalbarry. I’ve been posting in the forums for years, and the upgrade caused no login problems whatsoever. Just not having a problem with it (and I’m using Opera).

@autumneffect Well, maybe nasty was the wrong term to use – I guess I’ll never know what was said as it just says “[rude personal remark moderated by m.]”!

I guess the problem with text is that you can’t really gather tone from a sentence, barring with the help of a lot of smilies. If Otto had thrown in a ;), perhaps it wouldn’t have seemed rude to you…

Anyway, no point waffling on about this one. I’ve an awful lot of thanks owing to the moderators and have always been impressed by the amount of time they give to these forums. Better off trying to work out a solution to the issue!
