WordPress.com .xml file corrupt
-
I have been trying to migrate a blog from wordpress.com to self-hosted for a few months now. The XML file I download from wordpress.com is corrupt in some way and it either doesn’t upload or uploads only part of the posts (just 2010) and then somehow changes the “publish” button on new posts to “submit for review” but you get an error even if you try and submit for review.
SOMEHOW (I really don’t know how or why), I got the XML file to upload correctly to one of my test domains and I have tried exporting the XML file from there and the same thing happens (although it does not cause any errors on my test site) and if I use PHPmyAdmin to upload an SQL file from the database of my test site, the posts ALL transfer but I still get the errors.
I am not very good with SQL, at all and I’ve seen a few tips for this and tried them to the best of my abilities…without luck.
Does anyone have any advice?
