WordPress.com migration of posts problem

  • Hi I’ve just set up a new www.remarpro.com site https://www.thefinchweekly.com and am trying to migrate posts from my WordPress.com blog. I’ve followed all the instructions and my categories have transferred along with a few images but no posts. Can anyone advise what I’ve done wrong? I used the WordPress Importer tool and the exported file from the .com blog.

    Complete novice here so sorry if this is really basic!

  • Hi angelatempest,
    firstable I suggest you to do a full backup of your website, then seems to be a problem of FTP timeout during the export/import. So you could retry the export from WordPress.com and the import on .org new website.

    Okay I’ve added a backup plugin and it has backed up successfully, I’ve done the Purge SG Cache that requests at the top and used the import tool again. Still no posts or pages and only a few of the pictures. Any other ideas please?
