• I was getting internal server errors, i logged a support request with my web host to assured me it was not on there end. They said since i was using a beta of WordPress that they could not offer any support.

I decided to back up my database and export the WRX file and import it to a test install of WP 2.7 RC3 to see if i could get it fixed. After importing i was asked if i wanted to import the media gallery, i said yes since it was a different install.

    Everything was fine.

So i went to my problem install and began to delete some old tables created my plugins (stat plugins are very bulky in there Tables), i ended up clearing the whole thing out and reinstalling fresh and reimporting the WRX file, this time when asked if i wanted to import the Media Gallery i said no (its already in the wp-content/uploads. but now my images wont show up in the media manager. previous versions could see any image in the folders uploaded or not.

has this changed in 2.7? since i cant see any images at all, they are still there and after i tried to reimport the WRX file hoping i might be prompted to reimport the media library i wasn’t asked for the option again.

is there any way i can refresh the media lib? or am i stuck?

a side note, i think there should be some guidelines about plugins and how when you deactivate them they should also have the option to clean out there tables. i had 22mb of Stat info from Live Stats that wasn’t used for a long time. i’m not sure if this was contributing to my internal server errors.

are there any plugins that will refresh my media gallery or reassociate the posts with there images?

I have also noticed that all of my images are now linked to my Dev install of WordPress.

What was the WP version you were using before, the one which suddenly had internal server errors?

So i went to my problem install … i ended up clearing the whole thing out and reinstalling fresh

What version did you “reinstall fresh”?

reimporting the WRX file, this time when asked if i wanted to import the Media Gallery i said no

Re-import WXR again and this time, click to import media. Posts that were imported before will be noted as already imported but this time, you’ll get the media associated with the posts.

Problem install and dev install versions were both 2.7 RC1 i tried reimporting the WXR again checking the box to import media, but the posts already exist so nothing was replaced. i’m going to attempt to delete all posts and reimport the WXR file again.

i see in the “Media Library” there is a scan for lost attachments but it doesn’t seam to find any.

During the import into a 2.7-beta3 system the tags have not been imported properly into the new system.

The exported XML(WRX) file contains the <wp:tag_slug>budget-control</wp:tag_slug> where in the 2.7-beta3 system just the internal number is been recognized and shown.
