• Hi, newbie here.
I am running WebMatrix on my machine and I am using WordPress through it.

Today I tried to log in into my local WordPress account to access my Dashboard but the login page didn’t load.
I got a completely blank page instead.

Same thing with the main page of my WordPress site – loads a blank page with nothing in it.

I have upgraded to a newer version of WordPress using the auto-upgrade function in WP.
Other than this, I haven’t changed anything and yesterday my WordPress was runnigng fine. It just stopped working all of a sudden.

I read some similar topics on this forum and I know that most of te time it is the upgrade that messes everything up.
But I’m not sure if the upgrade is the problem in my cause because I remember that WP was working OK for awhile even after I upgraded it.

Anyway, now my WP site is gone and so is the WordPress login page.
I can’t log in into WordPRess anymore, I don’t have access t the Dashboard and I cannot tweak anything.

    What should I do?

  • Step one would be to disable the theme you are using and make WordPress revert to the default theme. This will rule out any theme related issues.

To do that simply backup your custom theme then rename your custom theme folder. This will force WordPress to revert to the default theme.

Also if you post your address here others can take a look to see what the problem might be.

The server is my PC, localhost.
I am using WebMatrix to run WordPRess on it.

I deleted all the themes in the wp-content/themes folder on my hard disk and then re-introduced the basic theme copying it from a fresh WordPress zip file.
    This didn’t solve the problem.
Did the same with the plugins – I deleted them all and then re-introduced them in the wp-content/plugins folder from the WP zip.
Again – this did nto solve anything.

My main problem is that I’m not able to open the wp-login.php page and to log in into WordPress.
wp-login.php gives me a blank page.
