WordPress won’t update and persistent “Page not Found” errors
-
Over the last week I have been unable to update WordPress and have been getting “Page not found” errors when I try to update plugins, save page/post drafts, and some other tasks. New media fail to upload unless I specifically go to the multi-file uploader page to add them to my library. Sometimes plugins will update on the 3rd or 4th try, but the update to 4.9.1 will not take at all. Also, I’m now having to put in ftp login info to complete updates, and that wasn’t happening before. I assumed it was a new update. I’ve deactivated some extra plugins, but nothing has changed. I’ve used FileZilla to change permissions to 775 (directories) and 664 (files) and it still has not fixed anything. Some files came back saying their permissions couldn’t be changed at all. I’m not sure what to do at this point.
I have screenshots, but this is my first time posting to the forums and I haven’t figured out how to add them to the post yet.
My site uses WooCommerce with the Storefront theme. What can I try to fix this?
