• Hello! We have very carefully followed the instructions on this page where it says “Using a Pre-Existing Subdirectory Install” and for some reason, it is not working.

Here is the WordPress site that’s ready to go:
    https://foodservicesinc.com/WORDPRESS

And here is the old site that will be replaced:
    https://foodservicesinc.com

We follow the steps listed on the above Codex page, but we continue to get a 500 Server Error. I’ve created a trouble ticket with the host (Isomedia) and they say they are “looking into it”. I believe Isomedia is a Windows server, so no htacess files there. I’ve tried copying the web.config file to the root, and then did NOT have web.config file in the root and makes no difference.

I just can’t see why it’s not working!?

We’d really love to launch this site!

    Thanks for any suggestions.

  • Both look fine and accessible to me.

Yes – individually they are fine at present, you are viewing the old site, and then the new WordPress version that is ready to launch – we want to “move” the wordpress site INTO the root directory, replacing the old site that is there now. Despite carefully following the instructions in the Codex link above, it doesn’t work. Once we copy the index.php file from WordPress into the Root, we get the 500 Error.

I realize I didn’t include the link to the Codex – these are the instructions we used – in the section that says “Using a Pre-Existing Subdirectory Install”
