• i am running my wordpress with xampp everything is fine but if i change the ports my apache uses i can no longer access my wordpress so if i change the port to 345, and try to access the server i can get to the xampp web page but 192.168.1.101:345/wordpress does not load? but if i change everything back to port 80 everything works fine?

    ok it seams that everything on the web server works fine except wordpress i just dont get it? i have tried https://192.168.1.101:365/xampp/htdocs/wordpress/index.php
    nothing works but if i reset the apache port to 80 it will work fine?

    why does it do this, i have installed it on server 2003 and windows xp and they both do the same thing

    it must be a simple fix does anyone know?

    i reinstalled wordpress WITH the new apache port and now https://localhost:345/wordpress/ works but nothing else, so you cannot get to it from outside of the local machine

    why the hell does it do this?

    Before you break it (change ports) login and visit Options -> General.

    See those two URL values? They matter… if you’re going to go changing things, make sure the URL there is correct as well (like, add :port to it…)

    thank you handysolo that worked, i was using wordpress about a year ago and did not have this problem, i was using the same exact setup, running it with xampp and i did not have to change that?

    anyways thanks alot
