WordPress with no FTP

    I have gotten WordPress installed to our school server. However our IT at the school will not allow us to use FTP on the server for security reasons.
    With this in mind is there any way I can set up WordPress to allow for updates?
    Manually rewriting the files on the server has caused major issues. I’d like to be able to do a one click update, but am afraid with out FTP access this is impossible.
    Please can someone give me some advice how to work around this.
