• I am trying to install WordPress on a Windows Server 2008 R2.
I am using the web installer to do this. Its easy enough to get going. However once, the installation never completes.

From what I can gather the SQL programs are installed (Prerequisite).

Then there are two status bars, one of which is completed, which is for the download. the other is for the install, which is continually going round. and never completes.

Help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks

PHP is up to date. SQL server installs with wordpress

What does Microsoft support say ?

    Am I to understand that:
    – your web server is running, you can display .html files in your browser?
    – your php server is running, you can display .php files in your browser?
    – your SQL server is running, you can view and administer databases?

It is difficult for us to know which WordPress installer you are running. Are you able to do a manual installation as described here:

i can display html and php fine. SQL server is running fine too

I am using the Microsoft Web Installer 5.0.

I will take a look at that link now.

I was told by my hosting company once that WordPress can’t run on a Windows server.

I’m not a server expert so not sure this true, but this was when I had issues trying to install WordPress on their Windows server, had to switch to a Linux server.

    I’m not try windows server

but you can try wampserver if work

    good luck

you can use a xampp or wamp server to install wordpress on windows server

    as i did here : ?????? ????

it s easy install the wamp and then create a database and so.
