    Hello

Awesome stuff you are building here. I left you a great review.

Still one question, I can’t find a Algolia widget in WordPress after setting up.

Is there one, or can I add html/JS code to a widget myself or is this for the future?

    Thanks.

    Hey there,

Thanks a lot for the review, really appreciated.

We didn’t consider widgets for now but we are open to suggestions.
What would be a good widget in your opinion?

Currently we either replace the search.php template or use the search input of the page.

Let me know what you think could be a good widget.

    Thanks for the fast reply.

On my page I have a search entry after the main menu, and – for now – one as a widget on the right.

The first one doesn’t do this instant searching, that’s why I tried to get it working with a widget.

So I understand the first search entry should also be capable of doing this?

If you could point me in the right location how I can change this, that would be nice.
The search page itself works flawlessly so far.

    Thanks

Correct me if I’m wrong, but you’d like to use an existing input as the search par of the instant search page?

I’d love to be able to create a widget for that, but as the implementation is mainly in the frontend, it would mean mixing backend and frontend which would complexify the customization.

Easiest way to go about this is to start customizing the instantsearch.php template like explained here: https://community.algolia.com/wordpress/customize-search-page.html

Then you could replace the “#algolia-search-box” selector with your own.

    I hope that makes sense,

Let me know if that does the trick,

The search on my main menu suddenly started to work – showing a list of topics when I use keywords from my site. Not sure if it was because the indexing finished?

Exactly what I wanted. Nice, thank you. The widget therefore is less necessary – at least for me.

Keep up the good work. don’t let google buy you ??

    Cheers

    Thanks for the feedback,

I’m glad it works now, and indeed on first indexing, the search won’t work until the full indexation has finished. This is linked to the way we create a temporary index and then remove that same index.

Thanks for the kind words and feel free to ping us again if needed,

    Cheers
