WordPress website redirected you too many times.

  • My wordpress website is shows ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS (redirected you too many times.) error when i try to access access example.com/wp-admin. But i can access admin panel through example.com/wp-admin/index.php

    How do i fix this error?

  • Have you made any changes recently?
    Are you trying to implement an SSL Certificate?

    Try deleting the .htaccess file let us know how that goes.

    Once you find a solution please tag the thread as resolved.

    Sorry, I made a mistake. Do not delete it…
    Rename it to .htaccess-old

    Deleting it will effect the entire site. However, the file will be regenerated and the redirect problem should fix itself when the files is regenerated.

    In order to regenerate the file you will need to login into wp-admin and resave the permalink settings.

    @binarywc I did what you said. But nothing works. Any other suggestion?

    It sounds like there is a theme or plugins misconfiguration. Have you tried asking your hosting provider to look at it? If you ask really nicely some hosts will look and see what they can do for you to fix the “too many redirects” error. Especially if it started after an SSL Certificate implementation.
