• Hello,

Has anybody tried upgrading to WordPress 3.9.1 in the sandbox? (previous version 3.5.)
the upgrade process works for me but the visual post editor doesn’t work and is whited out. If I highlight data in the post it appears as HTML. So the data is there just not displaying correctly.
I’ve disabled all plugins and switched to the 2014 theme, deleted browser caches and tried two browsers but to no avail.
I don’t think this is a sandbox issue so much as a WordPress upgrade issue but the moderators suggest I post here? (even though the sandbox is meant to be a test environment for wordpress upgrades!)

Has anybody used 3.9.1 succesfully in the sandbox without visual editor issues?

I’ve done a bit more debugging and I probably owe the moderator an apology as it could well be an artefact of using the sandbox.

If I look at the browser console in firefox I see many errors when going to the edit post page… the key one being this

    GET https://www.lickthespoon.co.uk/wp-includes/js/tinymce/tinymce.min.js [HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found 3078ms]

Now this file is there in the 3.9.1 Sandbox directory, however it looks like the sandbox is looking for this file in the non sandbox live directory where it is named differently and hence can’t be found.

So could this be a bug in the sandbox… many other things clearly switch over to the sandbox versions and work, but this doesn’t and is probably the cause of my apparent problems.
I’m still too scared to update the live site so does this look like a bug that can be fixed in the otherwise excellent sandbox plugin. Or is it some glitch in my setup of the sandbox? Thank you!

    This worked for us.

Turned on Firefox inspector and for some reason WordPress is looking for the plugin.min.js (/wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wordpress/plugin.min.js) in the root directory, so we just copied it over to the root directory.

    Hope this helps.
