• Hi Friends,

I’m working on switching to wordpress but after logging in, it takes ages in opening posts/files etc. sections.

This is very serious & i don’t know if it will let me switch to wordpress from blogger.

    Does anyone knows the reason?

All other websites open well. That means my internet connection is not slow.

    Thanks, Rohit

  • Obviously if other sites load in a reasonable amount of time it isn’t your web connection.

But I would look at your host where you have WP installed. There is nothing in WP (save the amount of sites being pinged) that would cause the slow loading.

My webhost is yahoo & i have also sent them email.

I hope they will resolve the issue as i don’t expect such kind of service from a company like yahoo.

or could it be because wordPress is not properly installed?

I think this wordpress is slower then the last one. I experienced the difference on 56k. I use cable at home so i dont notice anything. I don’t know if its wordpress or the servers…

When I first installed 1.5ish(I forget the exact one) it was lightning fast for me, then over time it got slow to post. I installed 2.0 tonight(clean install) hoping to alleviate the problem. Now it actually seems slower.

It’s only slow when publishing though. Here’s the odd thing, it looks as though it’s still processing, but if I open another window and look up my site, the post it usually posted before WP appears to be through publishing it. Any help would be VERY appreciated.

gscore, that’s my problem now also in 1.5.2. Wish someone could help and tell us what is causing this. I don’t have pingbacks or notify weblogs enabled. The post shows right away in a new tab, but the tab/window I publish it from takes extremely long to finish it’s process.

Oh, and rather than going back to my dashboard, it goes to a blank screen, but it does post. Just thought I would add that in case it helps in nailing down the problem.

I found the cause of it for me. It was the pingomatic link on the options/writing/update services in the dashboard. Once I removed that link, it’s all fast again.

Thanks Windsor, that sure enough cleared it up.

I am having the same problem too.. My wordpress is very slow. Not at all times, but mostly it is slow. I removed the pingomatic link, I did a CSS validator… everything I could think of. The changes I make take a while to save in WordPress Admin and also takes a while to show in the Browser. Sometimes it says ‘page not found’!
Could someone please help! This is urgent.

    Can’t help without a link. ??

    Jeez…I always do that!! ??

This morning it was super slow. I tried logging in and out a few times.. and refreshed a million times. Still testing my patience.

    HELP!
