WordPress Update Post Not Working

  • Hi All,

    I have a problem with wordpress admin.

    When I gave “Update Post”, it is not doing an update instead it is waiting forever and finally shows a blank screen. Similarly, if i edit the theme files from Edit Themes and on giving a “Update File” behaves the same (the browser status shows “Waiting sitename.com…..”) and finally ends up with a blank screen.

    i believe some write operation is not happening to the database or its deadlocked somewhere, i am able to browse through my site it works fine.

    i am using the latest WP ver 2.8, i tried re-install WP from “Upgrade” page but still the problem exists.

    It looks strange, in the morning i was able to do a post but by night when i tried this is happening. in between i changed nothing.
    Help me, what i could do now ? my URL is emoneymakingonline dot com.

  • Have you tried:

    – disabling Google Gears if you have that running/installed.

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems.

    – renaming the plugins folder via FTP

    Hi esmi,

    i tried a downgrade to 2.7.1 using the web host application (restored to the date before i upgraded 2.8) still the problem is there. i mean even with 2.7.1 i am seeing that issue.

    So now moved back to 2.8, let me check the other ways mentioned in that post.

    If nothing works out, what to do ? I have to make a refresh install of WP ?
