Hello, I was wondering how large of a memory_limit do I need to unpack the latest update to version 5? I’ve already set it at 256M in my php.ini but it’s still hanging at “unpacking the update”.

Sometimes things hang. If you have FTP or File Manager you could try manually updating.

I’d be interested to know if this is a live site or if you are using MAMP locally to host the site with the issue? I’ve had this lately on MAMP hosted sites and WP5

check you php max execution time I had to go to 120sec to get the update to complete

I have a live site, two actually. Neither updates. I don’t have MAMP either. But my max_execution time is at 90s. I have changed it to 120s and 300s and it doesn’t seem to have any effect. It downloads though… just cannot unpack. The spinning browser icon stops “loading” after a short little while. If I can’t update, I’ll just leave it. I’m not particular fond of the new editor so to me it doesn’t really matter.
