• Hello everyone,

This is my first post so I say hello to everyone.

I am new to WordPress world and want to set up a blog on WordPress on my own domain.

I want to buy a custom theme for my site. But before I do so I have few questions.

I have been browsing some forums selling WP themes and I have come across few terms that are alien to me. I would really appreciate if someone can explain them to me.

    1) Some sellers sell PSD files with their themes while others don’t. What PSD files are they taking about? Do I get PSD only for header image and other images or a layout of theme in PSD format.

    2) Some sellers offer coded themes while other offer only designs. What difference does it make if I buy a coded theme versus if I only buy a design.

I know the questions might be stupid but I need to know these things upfront before I make any investment.

Is there any link that explains these kind of WordPress Mumbao Jumbo?

    Regards,
    RayJack

    a huge one.

wordpress is a money train. someone that designs, that is, someone that uses photoshop to make mock ups of sites might sell you a .psd ..

Thats great, exceept wordpress doesnt run on .psds, it runs on PHP. Those “designers” dont do PHP. So youve spent money on a .psd, and then youre still stuck finding someone to convert that .psd mockup to PHP.

If you want a wordpress theme, and you want one done right: look for these sorts of skills:

    Thanks for your reply.

So I should buy a theme that has been coded as well. Whether I get PSD design doesn’t matter, right?
