• Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue with my WordPress site and could use some help. While the front end of my website loads quickly, I’m finding that the WordPress admin panel and the editing interface are very slow. Here are some details:

    Website URL:

    Issue:

    • The WordPress admin panel takes a long time to load.
    • Editing pages or posts is particularly slow.
    • The front end of the website has good speed and performance.

    Steps Taken So Far:

    1. Checked Site Speed: Used tools like GTmetrix and Google PageSpeed Insights to confirm that the front end loads quickly.
    2. Disabled Plugins: Deactivated all plugins to see if any were causing the issue, but the problem persists.

I’m wondering if this could be a server-side issue or if it’s something specific to my WordPress setup. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue or have any suggestions for troubleshooting?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Front end pages are often optimized and cached for optimal performance. Due to the nature of back end work, doing so for the back end is impractical. Furthermore, admin pages require more processing and resource to do what they do, it’s normal for them to be somewhat slower than front end pages. “Slower” does not necessarily mean too slow. If you are getting unacceptable performance with no plugins and one of the default Twenty* themes active, then it’s likely due to something about your server’s configuration and/or internet connection.

The main dashboard page can be particularly slow due to the need to fetch external data for the news and events box. You may wish to remove this box from screen options. Boxes added by themes and plugins can also contribute to a slow dashboard screen. For comparison, the back end pages on a randomly chosen site that I support takes anywhere from 2 to 5 sec to load. A resource heavy plugin like WooCommece can cause much longer load times unless you have adequate server resources.
