    WordPress uses gravatar for more than just comments – it uses it for displaying post author information, user profiles etc as well as in the admin. This is pretty hard baked into the core. Even the default “mystery man” avatar is fetched from gravatar.com.

    It’s beyond the scope of this plugin to override that functionality unfortunately.

    Too bad. Since the Gravatar related options are all located on the discussion page of the WordPress settings, I’d hoped it would be covered by the plugin as well. Also because persistent mode hide that settings page.

    But I understand that Gravatar is more than just the comments.
