• Found another problem with my sites indexing. This time, I discovered that there is absolutely no record of my wordpress “pages”. Google seems to be indexing my posts, and my home page… but not my static pages.

    Here is an example:

I have a page about our Michigan Road Trip. It can be found here – https://www.townsandtrails.com/michigan-road-trip-full-trip-report/

If you search Google for “Michigan Road Trip”, this page does not show up

If you search Google for “Michigan Road Trip Towns and Trails”, this page does not show up, but another one of my posts that link to it does

If you search for the first sentence of this page, “Random as it may seem, there was a lot of thought that went into our decision to vacation in Michigan this summer.”, the page does not show up, but another one of my posts that link to it does… as does some random blog feeder thingy.

Any ideas why these pages would not be indexed, yet some of my less popular posts (with fewer link backs) are?

    Thank you for any help!

Turns out they ARE being indexed. I was just able to find the page I gave as an example in google.

But clearly my pages are not being ranked very high, in comparison to my posts. Wonder if I should just convert all of the pages that do not need to functionally be pages… to posts.

Well, in case anyone else has this issue and stumbles upon this thread. I was unable to determine what the problem is. But have decided to scrap ANY wordpress page that I need good SEO on. Pages just do not seem to be getting the attention of posts. So I am turning all of my pages, into posts.

If anyone has an explanation or a better strategy, please do let us know.
