WordPress site with bilingual option ?

  • Hello,
    I am very new to WordPress.
    We are trying to convert our current website (html) to WordPress.
    On our current website our first page asks the user if they want to enter using ENGLISH or FRENCH.
    If we convert to WordPress how would a person go about having the same facility where the user could see English only or French only posts/pages ?

    one way to do this is to install wordpress in two subfolders, English and French.

    People can access your site with these option:

    yourdomain.com/english and
    yourdomain.com/french

    And on the home page, you can give then options to select..

    There is a good plugin I just used for a similar called “language switcher”. I got it from here:

    In the body of each post, you have a tag that indicates the different language parts, and then based on the user’s selection, they can see even the post titles / page titles and bodies in the proper language.
