    Hi there,

Does the Wp statistics plugin default installation slow down the WordPress site because the database is growing very much when a lot of visitors are coming to our website?
We have appr. 5000 visitors every day and it seems that WP is much slower than after we first installed it now. If so, what would you recommend I tweak in the setting to avoid this?

    Marcel

WP Statistics hooks in to the shutdown function of each page load so users should not see any significant impact, however collecting statistics does take some processing power.

In general, our per page load code is pretty light, it just stores the various information in the database. Having said that, the more data in the database, the long the inserts will take.

There are lots of reasons why a site might load slowly, in general we suggest you purge your data if your having performance issue on a schedule (Statistics->Settings->Maintenance)

i had to deactivate WP Statistics Plugin on many of my sites, i liked this plugin very much, but the loading time of my pages increased to extreme..

the cause was every time the ajax-admin used by wp statistics..

is there a solution for it?

Please don’t add on to a closed thread with a new issue, instead open a new thread.

Loading the statistics in the admin panel is a very resource intensive operation, you can either reduce the amount of data stored in the database or increase system resources to handle the load.
