• It may not be possible, but I thought I’d give it a shot.

My blog is WordPress, from the root. Someone asked me to put an image online (for an Android problem I’m having), and although I could put the image on the blog media (No blog page necessary), the URL would look something like:

    https://phildornan.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/image.jpg

Is it possible just to put it somewhere where it could simply be accessed as:

    phildornan.com/image.jpg?

I’ve tried a few locations, it comes up with:

Oops! That page can’t be found.

If it can’t be done, it’s fine, I’ll use a file sharing page. Just wondering….

    Thanks!

    Phil

To get an URL like discribed in Your request, You have to change the settings for permalinks to “custom”.

Just use a URL shortener or if you can do so use a subdomain on your webhost just for those images. You might even find that handy.

Also, if you have a CDN for your site, you might be able to push the images there and serve them from their host instead of yours.

But there’s no reason to not go with the media file storage if you wish. You can even embed the image and add text and such into a page or post. Get fancy if you wish.

You can also always just FTP the image into the site in whatever folder you want it to be in. You don’t have to upload everything through WordPress if it’s not going to be sued inside WordPress.
