WordPress server setup

    I have a WordPress multisite setup with 800 members. I host at VPS.net

    Webserver: 6 nodes
    3.6GHz, 2256MB RAM
    Runs NGINX
    PHP-FPM
    APC
    Memcached

    MySQL server: 5 nodes
    3 GHz, 1880MB RAM
    MySQL
    Memcached

    I am not that happy with this setup but i dont know what else to do…

    Is this too much “hardware” for my setup. I would like to have a good server setup for growth but also not too expensive. I pay $154 for nodes, plus backup.

    Could i host this better? 1 server/ 2 servers. Go dedicated? What are your recommendations?

    OK sorry. can you remove the hosting provider then. and do you have any recommendations?

    Although we cannot endorse them, there are some hosts listed here. Also searching the forums using the keywords “host” or “hosting” may provide you with some suggestions. However, due to the amount of spam that these topics attract, I’m afraid I will have to close this one.
