WordPress SEO by Yoast Conflicts with Visual Composer

I have recently switched from AIO SEO to Yoast and VC no longer displays when editing my pages. I have updated my VC to the latest version (4.4.2) and have updated Yoast as well. If I deactivate Yoast, VC works fine. I have contacted the theme developer and wp bakery and they both have told me that since enabling Yoast breaks VC (and not the other way around) then there is a problem with Yoast. Please assist. I just bought the Yoast ebooks and I really rather use them than switch to another SEO plugin.
