WordPress Search Queries Still Occurring
-
Hey Andrea,
First awesome idea and impressive work on the admin interface and connecting everything up with AWS Cloud Search. A ton of work must have gone into this.
I’m working on checking this out as an alternative to Google Site Search since they’ve discontinued that product and ran into an issue.
The main reason we don’t use the WordPress search is that it just doesn’t perform well once you go over a certain number of posts in your database and the site I’m working on has gone well past that number.
Everything seems to work fine with this plugin but when I make a search the search page is still very very slow to come up which I thought was strange.
I looked into it a bit and it’s very clear the WP_Query is still making the full search queries on that initial visit to the search results page.
Which in our case at least defeats the purpose of using the plugin in the first place.
It’s possible I’m missing something in my setup but wanted to run that by you and see if that’s as intended and if there’s a way to override that behavior already in the plugin.
Thanks a ton, if you’d like to converse more directly feel free to email me:
