WordPress running, but unable to add Widgets/Plugins

  • I recently had to reinstall WordPress due to a hosting change, I then went to re-install all my previous widgets (plugins) but I keep getting error messages when I try to install things.

    Incompatible archive PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Invalid archive structure]

    (it also says that wordpress 2.8.1 is available but that as well is not installing) (I am using W/P – 2.8)

    Maybe I should try a manual install??

  • I’d say that a manual install is worth a try. Either you’ve been very unlucky or there’s a issue with your current host when it comes down to unpacking the plugin archive(s).
