    Hello,

I am doing tests on my website, payment and subscription tests. I noticed something weird.

    Here is the scenario:
    – First, the user creates an account on the website. He therefore obtains the wordpress role of “subscriber”
    – then this user subscribes to a paid plan
    – he obtains the wordpress role of “armember”, in addition to the role of “subscriber”.

Logically it should just be “armember”, right ?
Do you know why he keeps these 2 roles?
Is there a way for the user to have only one role?

    Thank you

    Hello,

I understood your request and this may happen if you have selected the default role to ‘Subscriber’ from admin panel -> Settings -> General Page. And then, you have set different role in the membership plan. So, ARMember will assign that role based on which membership plan is purchased by the member.

Now, when the membership plan gets canceled or expired then the ‘ARMember’ role which is assigned by the ARMember plugin will be removed. But the role which is assigned by WordPress’ default settings or other plugins will not be removed from the ARMember. So, if you want it to be removed then, you can keep the same role in WordPress settings and ARMember membership plan. So, don’t worry there is not an issue. You just need to change accordingly.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks

Thank you very much for your answer.

Yes, the selected default role for a user with an account is ‘Subscriber’ on my wordpress. (I think is some thing native right ? )

What I would like is when the user “subscriber” buys a plan, he becomes “armember” (and just that).
I wouldlike to change automatically her role from “subscriber” to “armember”.
The user must not keep the 2 statuses.

I hope you see what I mean
    Thank you so much

    I tried something else :

    – First, the user creates an account on the website
    – A few minutes or days later, this user subscribes to a paid plan with the bank transfer paiement instead of stripe.

In this case, the user has the role “subscriber” at the beginning, then “armember”. But he only has the “armember” role.
Unlike the workflow with a payment with stripe where it has 2 roles.
