• Hi,

There is a glitch on my WordPress website backend wherein everytime I clone or trash a page or a post or change screen option the backend redirects to the website home page after the action is completed. I have recently updated the WordPress Version 5.4.1, but i dont think that is an issue because I dont see the same issue on my staging site. That works perfectly fine. Could anyone guide me with a resolution to this issue.

    Thanks in Advance

Other than that, Can you try deactivating plugins momentarily one-by-one and test if disabling any one of them stops this issue?

If this does not work, you can test by changing the theme to TwentyTwenty. If it gets resolved with this then it could be a theme issue.

Thank you so much for the reply @nagpai

I tried in incognito mode, when I Try to changes Screen option , It automaticaly redirects tom my-site-url/?mode=list

I tried to deactivate many plugins one by one, but still getitng the same issue.

I have updated my both live and staging website last week, But only live site is causing an issue.

    Hi,

I tried in incognito mode, when I Try to changes Screen option , It automaticaly redirects tom my-site-url/?mode=list

Can you elaborate what you mean by Screen option? On what exact page are you trying this, can you share the steps for me to replicate?

If you are doing this on media library admin page, this is expected, if you are trying to change from the grid view of posts to list view or back, the URL will have a parameter at the end.

What happens when you clone your page in incognito window now? (since the original question was about that)

did you try changing your theme to TwentyTwenty and try if that helps?

Can you please browse to https://whatismybrowser.com , click the Copy to clipboard button, and paste the link here in your reply? This will help see your browser settings and if anything is off there.

The WhatsMyBrowser link indicates that third party cookies are blocked in your browser. This may likely be causing the issue.

    Please browse to

    chrome://settings/content/cookies

(enter the exact thing above in your browser address bar to get to cookie settings)

Add your site to the allow list or enable all cookies using the option you see in this GIF

    https://d.pr/i/dQKHrc

If this does not work, please try changing your theme to TwentyTwenty to see if you can still replicate this issue.

Just in case if the animation of the GIF does not work, you need to change the switch labelled Block to on position. It will then read as
Allow sites to save and read cookie data (recommended)

You should also turn off the option below it that allows you to block third party cookies. Restart the browser and then try
